Locks on Bethel Doors: True?
by Room 215 ini recall that it's been mentioned in passing here on a few threads that there are locks on the bethel rooms.
this to me is significant, since when i was there in the sixties, there were none, and this wasa source of considerable pride in some circles.. can someone confirm, please?.
during my day, they caught one bethel thief, a guy whose dad was a prominent circuit overseer who served in nyc at the time.

THE SECRET OF FAMILY CRAPINESS
by bay64me ini know of a lady that started to study with her husband and to keep the story fairly brief, i shall omit smaller details although they are not unimportant.
as the study progressed, at different rates (the mrs was more taken in than the mr.) so they were split up, ie.
2 studies were then underway,(more hours to report!

JW BLOWS WHISTLE!
by bay64me inthought i'd share some of my experiences with you all!.
sister x, was somewhat of an enigma in the congregation, certainly a 'one-off'!
allegedly she suffered from an 'illness' that incapacitated her at strangely convenient times!

Will the Wt Split?
by Satanus inbased on the pressure that is building both within the rank and file and in the top management, i was wondering about the possibility of the wt fracturing into 2 groups: fundamentalist and liberal.
the gb has recently taken a back seat to 3 new corporations.
these were added to the multitude of corps they already have.

Question about WT study.
by jerome ini read a thread recently where syn was discussing a watchtower book study.. is it really true that they ask you the questions at the end of the chapter and make you restate the a few sentences directly from the few paragraphs that you just read as the anwser?.
was syn neglecting anything of importance that would be needed to make a more accurate assesment of the situation?.
because reading back something that youve just read dosent sound very challenging.

by DannyBear iniam pleased to report, my jw daughter called me this morning.. needless to say i was thrilled to hear from her.
as many of you know to well, it is a small blessing, but huge when it's coming from an active jw.. i have decided to leave off talking anything jw related, and just enjoy getting caught up on the latest in her life.. there is hope.. danny

Would a JW Elder consider physical evidence?
by ThatSucks ini was wondering if anyone could comment on the likelyhood of a witness elder considering physical evidence of molestation.
so far all i am hearing about is the 2+ witness rule and i would like further clarification.. if sally-sue's parents walked up to elder marvin and said: 'hey!
brother phaux raped my sally!

Another view on JW apologists
by ashitaka innow, what will follow is a post from a 15 yo kid on silentlambs.
you know, i rememeber feeling much like him.
i think witties are getting the impression that we think they they as people are pedos......they don't realize the corruption that we're fighting is their leadership, and their outdated prejudices.. "not much more can be said that hasn't been said already...i'm just wondering, why are you, (or anyone else who is) so hateful toward jehovah's witnesses...i beleive that you are entitled to your own oppinion, and you are free to think what you want to think.

Some seemed disappointed
by drahcir yarrum inwhile the majority of post dateline comments were positive there have been a few comments by some who seemed a little let down.
i guess perhaps they understandably expected enough earth shattering information to be exposed on dateline to cause kingdom hall burnings.. i don't know if there will ever be anything that emerges publicly that will cause jw cult followers to leave en masse.
but since the wts is built upon converting one person or one family at a time, i'm satisfied for it to be weakened one person or family at a time.. in the early 1980's my father, who was a huge defender of the witnesses, a true believer, began to have some subtle things that bothered him about the way elders were dealing with congregation members and some of the double lifestyles that many jw's were leading.. he took the attitude initially that jehovah would clear all things up and well, if this wasn't the truth, where were we to turn?
